What is Hyperpigmentation?

Pigmentation is the color of an individual’s skin tone. As for melanin, it is a pigment that is formed by a group of cells. And it is this group of cells that determines the color of your skin. When one area of your skin produces more melanin, it causes the skin in that area to darken compared to the rest of your body. This occurrence is called hyperpigmentation or “dark spots.”

Although dark spots can be harmless, there often can also be an underlying medical condition. Dark spots can occur on any part of the body and for a variety of reasons. The most affected areas are the face, arms, and legs, especially where the body tends to be most exposed to sunlight. Changes to the body, damaged cells, or sun exposure are a few of the most common causes of uneven skin pigmentation. A few examples of uneven pigmentation are melasma, age spots, or sunspots. But Beauty Time  Med Spa is here to help you take back control over your skin and achieve an even tone you feel comfortable in.

Types of Chemical Peels

There are several types of chemical peels ranging in strength from mildly superficial to deeply resurfacing. Below is a bit of info about the different types of peels we offer.

Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) – glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid.

* This is the mildest chemical peel formula and produces light peels for the treatment of:

* Fine wrinkles.

* Areas of dryness.

* Uneven pigmentation.

* Acne.

* They are effective in a series and have very little downtime.

* AHA peels may cause stinging, skin redness and mild irritation.

*Beta hydroxy acid peels (BHA) – salicylic acid.

* This peel is both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory.

* Works great for acne.

* Reduces the bumps and discolored spots associated with acne.

* Controls sebum secretion.

These mild to moderate chemical peels are sometimes called “lunchtime” peels. They take little time to perform and the patient may return to their activities without any disruptions.

is the most advanced and non-invasive skin rejuvenation, stretching and rejuvenation device in the world that is used to treat wrinkles and sunken and dull skin.

The plasma pen is an FDA approved and CE approved device that is used to perform fibroblast therapy, a technique used to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin. This device converts electrical energy into gaseous diatomic molecular nitrogen and transmits that energized gas without contact with the skin surface from above. This causes micro traumatisms in the epidermal layer of the skin (upper layers) and, at the same time, heats and alters the deeper dermal structure through thermal conduction. This treatment is also known as fibroblast.

Fibroblasts are the most common connective tissue cells in the body that produce collagen. Fibroblast produces excellent results for any area of the body, particularly the face and neck regions. It is important for anyone considering fibroblast treatment to carefully review the contraindications of the plasma pen, Plasma pen instructions Postoperative care, risks and skin types that can be treated safely.
